Biking on Hilton Head

In 2011, the League of American Bicyclists awarded The Town of Hilton the coveted Bicycle Friendly community award at the silver level.   Hilton Head Island boasts 60 miles of public pathways and nature trails on which pedestrians and cyclists can enjoy the spectacularly diverse attractions of this beautiful island. In addition, there are more than 50 miles of pathways and shared roadways within each of the private developments located on the island. These private pathways are for the use of residents and renters of the respective communities and their guests. Please contact us if you have questions regarding the policy on entering and exiting these communities.

Do baskets come with the bike rentals? Yes, baskets are FREE, but may not be available during peak months.

How far in advance should I place my order? Please place your order at least 2 weeks in advance.

Do we have to be there for the delivery of the bikes? No you don't. We will have the bikes delivered to the property for you and will automatically pick up your bikes on the day you check out.

What are the bicycle rules on the island? Follow the flow of traffic. Cars have the right away in Plantations. Do not ride on roads that have bike paths adjacent to them. Stay on the paths and off the roads. Bike paths are marked in many locations on posted maps.
